Today, more than ever before, private equity investors need a detailed knowledge of their investment targets’ IT. We contribute that expertise to support due diligence processes and investment decisions, including an outside-in evaluation of the target’s IT capabilities and their adaptation to the business strategy. The things that we typically assess include the IT application environment, IT development and operation, IT cost structures, IT security and data privacy.
We were asked by an investment company to perform a due diligence audit on an internet trading platform. We assessed the platform’s functions, architecture and features, as well as its business strategy fit. On that basis we were able to make recommendations for the investment decision.
Interviews with key stakeholders and analyses of existing documentation are the tools that we use to obtain a neutral and objective assessment of the target’s IT potential. We also compare our findings with best practices and develop scenarios for the implementation of the business strategy.
